Orthoceras Fossil

Orthoceras fossils are the preserved remains of extinct marine cephalopods that lived over 400 million years ago. They are one of the first recognisable animal and are ancestors to the squid family. Typically found in black limestone, they display the long, straight shell structure characteristic of the species.
